An interview with : 'Kissyfoot'

And we are back !

During my holiday I stumbled upon this thing I never seen anywhere before. A foot-fetish progressive rock band, called 'Kissyfoot'. With their Roger Waters / Pink Floyd sound, they combine foot fetish lifestyle with some well produced tunes.

With their newest seventh album 'Forbidden Feet' released last June, and a movie in the making, these are busy times for Kissyfoot.

Be sure to check out some sounds of Kissyfoot, and enjoy this interview I had with them !

I wish Simon and Sharon all the best for the future and their cool band.

Band name?
Kissyfoot

Who’s in the band?
Simon Jeremy Mills (Guitars, synthesizers, vocals) and Sharon Mills (Violin, Keyboards)

What do you do in the real world?
Simon - Psychology student / Sharon - ME/CFS

Describe your sound to us?
We blend the soul of Pink Floyd with the experimentation of Ultravox, Kraftwerk and NEU! - with a generous dollop of Electric Light Orchestra, Mike Oldfield and Jean Michel Jarre on the top!

Who are your influences?
See above!

What role did foot fetish play in the bands life until now?
Absolutely central.  Kissyfoot only exist to promote foot fetishism and the barefoot lifestyle.  The music builds upon that premise, exploring foot fetish fantasy worlds, acoustically.

Foot fetish and progressive rock, how did those two things come together ?
They are our 2 main loves!  It seemed natural to combine the two!

Tell us about your recordings? What is your favorite Kissyfoot album/song ?
We are very proud of our 2011 album "65520 > Kingdom of Toes", as it covers many musical styles and moods, whilst never losing sight of the goal of celebrating feet.  Favourite song?  That would be "Kingdom of Toes" - the title track.  It takes a very Kraftwerkian approach, and adds some sensuality to the mix!

What’s the state of play with the band at the moment?
We've just finished our new album "Forbidden Feet" (a concept album about a man arrested for his foot fetish and conditioned against acting upon it).  We are currently making our first film, "Kissyfoot - The Movie", plus a companion film called "Koyaanisfootsi".  Very exciting times!

What’s the big game plan for the band?
We have yet to play live!  But when we do, it will be a big production with lots of foot fetish visuals, dancers and films etc.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Roger Waters - The Wall, in 2011.

In today’s music scene, with the demise of record companies and mySpace, how does an artist develop a large enough following to sustain a career?
You simply have to plug your music on every available website/forum/blog that you can.  We put links to our music all over the net, hoping that enough people will hear us, then hopefully buy our CDs/downloads from our official website!

What do you think of FeetXpress?
The best new foot fetish website I've seen in literally YEARS!!!

  1. Are those Sharon's feet?:)
Cool concept. I'd love to see a live concert!
How about a vinyl version of the album?

  2. The feet on the CDs are Sharon's. The feet holding the CDs belong to one of the Feetosopher's top models. We'd love to produce vinyl versions of our albums!
